Rainbow fish!

What a fantastic Monday we have all had. Both Reception classes have learnt about the sound 's'. We have drawn 's' in shaving foam with sparkles, playdough, pencils, with beads, made sequin collage s's and been on an 's' adventure around the school grounds.

During Forest School this week we will be researching bird food, putting up bird boxes and making nests out of environmental materials.

Our 'Under the Sea' topic leads us onto the story of the 'Rainbow Fish'. We will be using the computer to make fish pictures whilst acting out the story, making fantastic collage pictures, ordering sea creatures of different sizes and exploring capacity through water play! What a fun time we are having!

Welcome to our first few days in Reception!

Meeting our new Year 3 buddies, sitting with them during assembly and playing with them in the playground has definately been a highlight!
Our topic this half term is 'Under the Sea'. The children are very excited to investigate all kinds of different sea creatures. Today we were learning about the letter 'm'. We have printed with mushrooms, decorated collage 'm' shapes, made monster masks and pictures, playdough 'm's' and writing sheets. Here are some pictures from our first few days.

We had a fantastic time playing in the quad with our Year 3 buddies.

The house picnic was also a real treat. Our first event with the whole school!
