All about 'sh' and shapes!

Today was another action packed day in Reception. We started by learning the 'sh' sound and a very funny story about Sidney Snake and Harold Horse. The children will hopefully remember it if you ask them.
We carefully drew the 'sh' sound, made a 'sh' sound wheel, pressed shell shapes into playdough and made 'sh' shaving foam shapes.
After play we learnt about two dimensional shapes, named and sorted them according to their different properties and made some shiny shape pictures. We also went on a shape treasure hunt adventure. Well done shape detectives!

Happy 'h' day

Today the children had so much fun with the letter'h'. We made houses for horses, painted our hands to do 'handprint h's' , formed some simple CVC words and went on a 'h' treasure hunt. We have also been trying so hard to learn our nativity play lines. Well done Reception, you are all super stars!
